Iron Mask Unleashes “No Greener Lands” Ahead of New Album ‘Crimson Prophecy’

Belgian power metal outfit Iron Mask has announced its new album, Crimson Prophecy, arriving January 29, 2027, through Frontiers Music Srl.

And apparently, guitarist Dushan Petrossi has decided that ordinary guitar solos simply aren’t complicated enough.

The band has also released the album’s first single, “No Greener Lands,” accompanied by an official lyric video, offering listeners an introduction to the next chapter of Iron Mask’s neoclassical metal sound.

The song explores a familiar human habit: constantly searching for something better while overlooking what’s already right in front of us.

It’s the musical equivalent of spending three hours scrolling through streaming services only to end up watching something you’ve already seen.

Except with considerably more guitar shredding.

“‘No Greener Lands’ is a song about something I think we can all relate to: always looking for something better somewhere else, without realizing the value of what we already have,” Petrossi explained.

He describes the track as a combination of memorable vocal melodies, powerful riffs and an epic atmosphere, all built around a message that extends beyond the usual heavy metal subject matter.

Crimson Prophecy continues Iron Mask’s blend of classical influences, technical musicianship and traditional heavy metal, with Petrossi emphasizing strong songwriting alongside the elaborate guitar arrangements that have become the band’s signature.

The album also marks the return of vocalist Mark Boals, whose career and distinctive vocal range have made him a familiar name among fans of neoclassical metal.

His return adds another dimension to the record, pairing soaring vocals with Petrossi’s intricate guitar work and the band’s larger-than-life arrangements.

According to Petrossi, the goal was to create an album that maintains Iron Mask’s identity while giving each song its own personality.

“I really pushed myself creatively on this record, and I feel it’s one of the most varied and exciting albums we’ve made so far,” he said.

That balance between technical ability and memorable songs is particularly important in a genre where musicians occasionally seem determined to squeeze an entire conservatory education into a four-minute track.

Fortunately, Iron Mask appears equally interested in giving listeners something they can actually remember after the guitar solo ends.

With Crimson Prophecy, the band is continuing its commitment to powerful melodies, dramatic arrangements and the kind of guitar playing that makes aspiring musicians reconsider their practice schedules.

“No Greener Lands” is available now, along with its official lyric video. Crimson Prophecy is scheduled for release January 29, 2027, through Frontiers Music Srl and is available for pre-order.

And while the new single reminds listeners that the grass isn’t always greener somewhere else, Iron Mask has apparently found one thing worth chasing.

Another great guitar solo.
