Apparently, therapy isn’t the only option when someone betrays you. You can also add orchestration, turn up the guitars and write a massive chorus.
Swedish symphonic metal band ELEINE has released “Liars Linger,” the latest single from its upcoming fifth studio album, The Water Taste Of Blood, arriving December 4 through Algoth Records and Sound Pollution. Led by vocalist Madeleine Liljestam and guitarist/vocalist Rikard Ekberg, the band tackles broken trust on the new track, the particularly nasty variety that only comes from discovering someone close to you had been sharpening the proverbial knife for a while.
Heavy subject matter, certainly, but ELEINE isn’t interested in spending four minutes feeling sorry for itself. “Liars Linger” turns betrayal into resolve, building from tension and vulnerability into the kind of sweeping chorus symphonic metal was invented to deliver. Subtle? Not particularly. But nobody buys a ticket to a symphonic metal show hoping someone quietly works through their feelings.
The single arrives as ELEINE prepares for an extensive European and UK headline tour beginning October 8. The band has spent recent years steadily expanding its international audience, sharing stages with Arch Enemy, Kamelot, PAIN, Sonata Arctica and W.A.S.P. while developing a headline following of its own.
“The Water Taste Of Blood” arrives December 4, 2026. “Liars Linger” is available now.
