Hardcore Superstar has signed with Frontiers Music Srl and released a new single called “Halo.” Don’t worry, the Swedish rockers haven’t suddenly become saints.
The new partnership opens another chapter for the long-running band, with “Halo” arriving just ahead of the 20-date Scandinavian leg of the Dirty Halo Tour, which begins October 2 in Malmö, Sweden.
Built around heavy guitars and a chorus designed with the stage in mind, “Halo” deals with the uncomfortable territory between redemption and accepting the damage you’ve already done. The band describes it as an anthem for people “faking their prayers” while hoping there might still be a little grace available beneath a dirty halo.
Basically, confession with the amplifier still plugged in.
The signing also signals considerably more than a standalone single. Hardcore Superstar says new music is on the way and the band is currently working on the follow-up to Abrakadabra. The upcoming record will be its first featuring drummer Efraim Larsson, whose previous work includes Gathering of Kings and Masterplan.
Frontiers VP of Global A&R Aldo Lonobile says the label sees plenty of road ahead for the band despite its already substantial history, while Hardcore Superstar says the partnership gives it a home that understands both where the group came from and where it wants to go next.
First, however, there’s an actual road to deal with.
The Dirty Halo Tour will take Hardcore Superstar through Sweden and Finland beginning October 2, with additional European and international touring planned for 2027. The band says it’s looking forward to returning to the chaos, crowds and late nights of touring—which probably isn’t helping with that halo situation.
After all these years, Hardcore Superstar doesn’t appear particularly interested in cleaning up its act.
It just found a new label willing to turn it up.
