Swedish rockers BOMBUS have released a new single called “Shoes To Fill,” offering the first taste of their upcoming album, No Magic, scheduled for early 2027 through Black Lodge Records.
And judging by the band’s description, subtlety isn’t part of the plan.
The new track arrives alongside an official music video and introduces what BOMBUS describes as its rawest, heaviest and most uncompromising material to date.
According to the band, “Shoes To Fill” was deliberately chosen to establish the direction of the upcoming record.
“Riff-driven, relentlessly direct, and packed with the energy that runs throughout the entire album, it’s a rock’n’roll heavyweight that hits hard and refuses to let go,” the band explained.
Apparently, nobody suggested easing listeners into the new material.
Formed in 2008, BOMBUS has spent nearly two decades establishing itself within the Scandinavian rock and metal scene, developing a sound that combines heavy riffs, aggressive energy and a straightforward rock-and-roll attitude.
Following its debut, the band released The Poet and the Parrot in 2013, Repeat Until Death in 2016, Vulture Culture in 2019 and Your Blood in 2024.
Each release has marked another stage in the band’s evolution, but No Magic appears to be taking a particularly direct approach.
Rather than chasing elaborate production tricks or unnecessary musical decoration, BOMBUS says the new album focuses on delivering hard-hitting rock without distractions.
“This is us at our most real,” the band stated. “No magic, just pure force.”
It’s a refreshingly simple philosophy in an industry that occasionally seems determined to complicate the process of plugging in a guitar and turning up the volume.
With “Shoes To Fill,” BOMBUS is setting expectations for an album built around powerful riffs, relentless energy and the kind of musical aggression that doesn’t require much explanation.
Additional details about the album’s release date, future singles and touring plans are expected to be announced soon.
For now, “Shoes To Fill” is available on digital streaming platforms, along with its official music video.
The album is called No Magic.
Apparently, the band would prefer to let the guitars do the tricks.
